EIR-OPS-012: Set Up Nominal Operations
Objective
To enter Nominal Mode and set-up/start nominal operations.
Introduction
This is not strictly a procedure with step-by-step instructions. Instead, the below points are to guide the Operator to the different procedures that can be used to configure EIRSAT-1 for nominal operations.
Tip
This procedure should be used as a guideline for configuring Nominal Operations. The below points can be followed in any order to do this. After each completed step, the Operator should return to this procedure and continue with the next desired step.
Procedure
This procedure contains the following sub-procedures:
Transition to Nominal Mode
To transition to Nominal Mode, the Operator should follow the EIR-OPS-007: Operational Mode Change Procedure.
Set Up the EMOD Experiment
To power on EMOD and/or enable experiment running, the operator should follow the EIR-OPS-022: EMOD Configuration procedure.
Typically (not always!), as part of nominal operations, the following is configured as part of EIR-OPS-012:
Parameter Name |
Value |
|
1 |
|
30 (dec) |
|
0x0F (hex) |
|
1 |
|

Warning
If not already confirmed/known, a senior member of the Operations team or the EMOD team should be consulted prior to initiating this procedure to confirm this configuration is to be set up or to discuss alternative configurations.
Set Up the GMOD Experiment
To power on GMOD and/or enable experiment mode, the operator should follow the EIR-OPS-020: GMOD Configuration procedure.
Warning
EIR-OPS-021 provides the Operator with all inputs typically required to configure nominal experiment running of the GMOD payload. If not already confirmed/known, a senior member of the Operations team or the GMOD team should be consulted prior to initiating this procedure to confirm this configuration is to be set up or to discuss alternative configurations. As part of this discussion, the Operator should assess whether TimeActions are needed to handle data generation during the SAA?
Set Up ADCS Operations
To enable ADCS Manager and to initiate some controller operations of the ADCS, the operator should follow the EIR-OPS-008: ADCS Mode Change procedure.
Warning
If not already known, a senior member of the Operations team or the ADCS team should be consulted prior to initiating this procedure to confirm what configuration is to be set up. As part of this discussion, the Operator should assess: Whether the ADCSDebugLogger should be enabled, what ModeState the ADCS should be set to operate in, whether a TimeAction is needed to revert the ADCS ModeState to stand-by after some time period (If so, what time period?), whether the FSS should be powered on, whether the ADCS Manager should be enabled?
Set Up TC Authentication
To Enable TC Authentication, the operator should follow the EIR-OPS-009: Enable TC Authentication procedure.
